Everyday German Course A1 – B1 (Part 01 of 12) – Michael Schmitz

What’s in the Everyday German course?

This course is more than just a presentation of all necessary grammar and vocabulary. It will help you to learn efficiently and effectively with its wholistic and experience-based approach. Don’t trust my words, experience it first hand by working through the intro and the 1st lesson yourself. The reason why the smarterGerman method is so effective, is because it’s combining over 20 years of practical experience on both sides of the classroom with a scientifically proven to work learning techniques. I developed this course due to getting bored to death in the over 20 language courses I took and even in my own German classes (with me teaching them) where we were only allowed to speak German to the students. Needless to say that those classes were far from efficient. The course includes over 54 lectures which are segregated in 6-8 steps each, featuring over a hundred videos of more than 35 hours of video lessons and detailed supporting text modules.

Can you solve the mystery?

The story I use in my course is a criminal story. The reason I chose to do this was based on the nature of criminal stories. People are drawn naturally to stories like this because they want to find out more. All of us want to discover the truth. We are wired to want to know “whodunit”. When this type of motivation is paired with learning, it prompts the learner to read on and learn more to find out who the the culprit is. And on this journey, as a reader you learn a new grammar topic with each chapter you read.

Avoid the biggest mistakes in traditional language learning

Many learners who want to learn a new foreign language, start with vocabulary. The problem with that, is that If you only learn vocabulary in an isolated fashion, either you only learn partial meanings and ignore the full range of definitions that the word has, or you try to memorize multiple definitions and end up confusing yourself because you don’t know when to apply which definition. My process is totally different, and I hold your hand taking you through it one step at a time. You don’t need to memorize grammar tables or vocabulary words. Just show up and open your mind for 15 minutes a day.

Course Curriculum

Reading

The base of any language is vocabulary. Get to know powerful self-learning techniques, which help you to learn independently and effectively.

Grammar

I broke down the German language in a logical way that is simple and makes sense. You will understand everything as I explain things in simple English instead of the usual Gibberish.

Active Listening

The better you understand what others are saying, the more secure you will feel with them and the greater the beneficial effect on your speaking skill.

Writing

Writing seems to intimidate many German learners. That is mainly because they would like to be able to express themselves as they do in their mother tongue.

Speaking

Not being able to express yourself fully can be a quite intimidating and frustrating experience. But with a couple of quite simple to follow tips you will be able to leave this initial fear behind you soon and who knows, maybe even enjoy staggering your way through the language-jungle until you reach a liberating clearing.
